Gozo is 26 square miles (approximately the size of Manhattan according to Wikipedia) therefore it is easy to get around. I have tried to visit a new town every day and explore a different part of the island constantly.
One of the beginning days of the trip I went to the old fishing town of Marsalforn. My friend Olivia and I got the bus then walked along the coast to find some fishermen (Olivia's project is on the fishing industry) and to also find the salt pans. The salt pans are natural areas where workers collect salt-straight from the Mediterranean Sea. We were more lucky finding the salt than the fishermen unfortunately for Olivia.. But we both had a good time exploring the area.
I had to take a picture of this sign outside a seaside restaurant because we are just so lucky that these are the local foods where we are. It doesn't mention bread either which is delicious here.
On our walk we had a beautiful view the entire time:

We finally made it to the salt pans after a long lovely walk! It was so cool to see salt in it's natural habitat. We tried some and it sure was reeeeeal salty.
The next day I wanted to explore another town so Hannah L (my partner for the egg assignment) and I went to Ramla Bay. We left around 10 from Xlendi and decided to walk to Victoria (a 40 minute walk) instead of getting a bus there but then we'd catch a bus to Ramla. It's supposed to have a gorgeous beach!
Instead when we were 5 minutes away from our house a car stopped next to us. It had the staff members from our program in it and they were headed to a farm to pick fresh lemons. We were invited to join and decided to go! So we spent our morning picking and eating fresh lemons, apples, peaches and berries. It was amazing. I love fresh fruit.

Mmmmm lemons!
Delicious apples were everywhere!
Not to mention it was a really great view from the farm.
After the farm they dropped us off in a town where it was an easy walk to Ramla. We met up with some local friends and they invited us for wine and chit chat. This is where they live:

They then drove us around the Nadur area of Gozo and we saw some beautiful sites like this beach:
San Blas Beach. They drove us all around showing us pretty sites around
Needless to say it was a great day and also a little productive because we got to chat with locals about our projects. Hannah's is on pork consumption on Gozo and how it is/was used as a means of cultural distinction between Muslims and Christians. My project is on refugees specifically on Gozo and what kind of social organizations there are and what there should be.
